Hazrat Maulana Inayatullah Saharanpuri

His father's name was Maulana Baksh, and his grandfather's name was Makhdoom Baksh. He obtained his Quranic education at Madrasatul Quran in Gangoh and later studied the introductory books of Persian and Arabic from various teachers in Saharanpur. He was among the early students of Mazahir Uloom.
In 1284 AH, he began his education at Mazahir Uloom. His teachers included Hazrat Maulana Sa'adat Ali, Hazrat Maulana Sakhawat Ali, Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Hasan, and Hazrat Maulana Siddiq Ahmad. During his studies, he achieved distinction every year and learned Sahih Bukhari and Jami at-Tirmidhi from Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Mazhar Nanotwi.
While he was a student, he also taught at the madrasa during his free time, but he was formally appointed in 1289 AH. After a short time, following his father's directive, he taught in Manglor and other places. In Shawwal 1297 AH, due to Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Hasan's departure, he was appointed with a salary of just ten rupees a month. On 5th Rajab 1306 AH, Maulana Abdul Razzaq Saharanpuri was made the principal of Mazahir Uloom, but in Dhul-Qi'dah 1309 AH, he resigned. Consequently, for the first time, Hazrat Maulana Inayat Ilahi was appointed as the administrator and principal of the madrasa.
His piety, religious commitment, and strong jurisprudential stance were well-known, and his anecdotes are widely shared. In addition to various services, he also wrote fatwas. The first and second volumes of the recorded fatwas of Mazahir Uloom, which are present in the madrasa's archives, contain significant contributions from Hazrat Maulana Inayat Ilahi's scholarly legacy.
He passed away on 20th Jumada al-Thani 1347 AH, corresponding to 5th December 1928 CE, on a Wednesday at 2 AM, departing from the material world.
